Canada Day 2024 at MacDonald Island Park


Free family fun is back for Canada Day at MacDonald Island Park! Visit SMS Equipment Stadium at Shell Place on June 30th & July 1st for a variety of activities for the whole community!

June 30 - Free Community Concert & Syncrude Fireworks

On June 30, Canada Day kicks off with a Free Community Concert featuring iconic Canadian rock band 54-40 on the 100.5 Cruz FM Music Main Stage! Gates will open at 6:30pm for this family-friendly show. The evening will conclude with the Syncrude Fireworks at approximately 11:00pm. The best on-Island viewing for the fireworks will be from inside SMS Equipment Stadium.

Join us for an evening of music, food & fun! This event is free to all community members and no tickets are required to attend.

 

July 1 - Free Family Fun Activities

On July 1, SMS Equipment Stadium will host the annual free Canada Day activities from 12:00 to 5:00 pm including family entertainment from Gabby’s Cat-Tastic Dance Party on the Country 93.3 & 97.9 Rock Family Main Stage!

Family Activities at SMS Equipment Stadium will include:

  • Face Painting presented by CNOOC

  • Freezie Giveaway presented by SMS Equipment

  • Bouncy Castles presented by Sentinel Storage

  • Birthday Cupcakes presented by Canadian Natural

  • Craft Carnival presented by ATCO

  • Obstacle Course presented by TD Bank Group

  • Food Trucks and Concessions

    • Cameras with lenses (interchangeable/detachable) longer than 3" or external flash (No Professional Photography)

    • Audio/Visual Recording Devices (includes GoPro, Google Glass, Spectacles, etc.)

    • Selfie Sticks, Tripods, Monopods, Telescopic or similar devices

    • Outside Food, Beverage, or Alcohol with the exception of sealed water bottles and kids snacks

    • Weapons, Firearms, Pepper Spray, Pocket Knives or Mace

    • Illegal Drugs or Substances

    • Flammable Liquids, Aerosol Cans, or Permanent Markers

    • Flashlights, Laser Pointers, Flares, or Fireworks

    • Noise Making Devices (i.e. Air Horns, whistles, bells, vuvuzelas, cow bells, etc.)

    • Skateboards, Segways, Scooters, Rollerblades, Bicycles, Hoverboards

    • Coolers, Ice Chests or Pointed-Tip Umbrellas

    • Patrons Without Shirt, Bottoms or Footwear

    • Drones (unmanned aircraft systems) or Other Model Aircraft

    • Non-Service Animals
